Sticky Tubes?

SIL, has a tender, which has developed sticky tubes over the last few weeks.
Any idea why & how to deal with?

Probably UV degradation. I used a scotch pad and Cif to remove the stickiness: to prevent further breakdown, fitted a set of covers to both the tubes and the aerodeck. But we are in the Med and the sun is much more intense than UK.
