I am looking for recommendations for brands of double sided adhesive tape. The job I want to do is bond small sections of rubber tubing to the inside of the GRP hull where the saloon sole flooring sits. The idea is to dampen the movement of the floor when walked over reducing the creaking effect. There are many out there with good and bad adhesion I need something which will still work well even in a high moisture atmosphere.

As advised previously on here, I rubbed a candle on the edges of the floorboards. Stopped creaking-and its cheap!!!!

Rather than faff with the rubber tubing could you use self adhesive neoprene tape??

Rather than use double sided tape I would use one of the many grab adhesives / sealants available these days.

Many adhere much better than tape and will retain a flexible composition too. They'll even work when wet and are waterproof.

An example of a good one is "Nail and Seal" available from B&Q, or Evo-Stik "Sticks Like" (Used to be "Sticks Like S**t" but they changed the name).

I've never had good results from double sided tape.

The silicone element of them will also help provide lubrication and stop the squeaking and creaking.

On my Fulmar when I rebuilt the floors the sole wasn't evenly supported so I coated the bottom part of the sole boards with parcel tape and applied small blobs of epoxy putty on the floors where I thought there was too much of a gap.Then I offered the soleboards and allowed the putty to cure.There's absolutely no movement now and no creaks.The blobs can be made to look nice with an electric file afterwards and painted.
