When I tried to haul my genoa up the furler today, excessive friction between the luff and the foils was a severe problem.
Short of removing the foils from the forestay, what is the best way to overcome this problem?
One friend has suggested candle wax on the sail, can other forumites help?

GT85 dry lubricant as used on Bikes. spray as far up the foil as you can reach and spray the luff of the sail. I've used it for years and it seems to work well and when it drys it doesn't seem to stain of leave a sticky deposit.

I've got a similar problem with my furler. It might be bearing related but I'd thought about using some dry bike lubricant on the bearings. Can someone expand on how they have used this to overcome a stuck furler? Where exactly do you spray and what benefit might this have? I'm hoping to try this approach before taking the whole thing off and replacing bearings.
