Have a seago 270 which is approx 2 year old which has been kept in the uk however the seago logo and the fendering has become sticky . I've tried cleaning with petrol ,acetone etc as advised in another thread of mine to no avail . my question now is what causes it ? Had many inflatables in my time and never experienced this before .Its a complete and utter b ugger

It's UV damage. Plenty of talcum powder.!

Seems pretty unlikely to be UV damage in UK. Plenty of PVC dinghies kept in the Med last far longer than 2 years. Sounds like a material issue. If only 2 years old is it not covered by a warranty? The Airdeck of my Quicksilver was replaced FOC at over 5 years old with the same problem.

That was my thoughts . unfortunately I haven't a clue where where the receipt is ..... Even if I kept it . It seems strange it's only the logo and fender strip , everything else is fine. i'tried to find a manufacturers or importers website to no avail .

Cheapest Morrison's / Asda's cream cleaner (80p ish) (use lots) with a light scrub using a green scotchbrite pad.

Excellent treatment for many things around the boat. We clean all our stainless tubing with cream cleaner, cheap, quick and effective. Guardwire plastic goes very yellow in Greece but the cream cleaner plus scotchbrite brings it back to white.
