Need to redeck my small afterdeck this winter (about 8'x2').
There will be a new plywood sub deck which I will epoxy sheave at home (dont tell SWiMBO) in the warm. then screw down and seal the screw holes. I then have to fix down the 6mm teak strips. Question is which adhesive, in warmer weather I would go for epoxy but really need to get the job done when temps may not be right for this.
There is no bending required and I had proposed to wieght it down with sand bags.
Balcoten, cascomite ?? Advice, hints anyone. No prizes for telling me not to use teak!!!
Regards, Peter

The necessary products and how-to's are pretty important. eg flexible adhesive and caulking, solvents to clean the edges, then priming to ensure the caulking sticks.

Cascomite is a big no-no IMO, because it is very brittle.

There is a sikaflex catalogue/data sheet IIRC, which goes through the products and techniques quite thoroughly.

Thanks for that. I did my foredeck 2 years ago. I have the instructions for sealing the gaps firmly in my brain! My regret was re-screwing down the strips as the teak was by now thin and difficult to seal/plug the screw holes. With hindsite I should have 'glued/bonded' them down which is what I propose to do at the stern.
So what adhesive at say 5 degrees C chaps??
