Sticking \"brass\" & \"glass\"

Jumping over a wave this weekend the glass fell out of my brass cabin clock. It appears on manufacture to have been stuck to the brass body of the clock. Tried superglue but only lasted a day. Any idea what will stick these two materials together?

Perhaps try 'Mirror' Glue from car parts, Halfords etc, used to stick rear view mirrors back on windscreens.

Araldite but the surfaces must be scrupulously clean. Degrease and lightly abrade.

Use the slow setting stuff not the rapid stuff.

Use RTV (bath sealant). Very small quantity required as it will spread all over the glass! It sticks like s**t to a blanket... you can get it in clear - if difficult to find, try a pet shop, it's used for making fishtanks.

I would caution against using RTV silicone as the bonding medium between glass and brass. Glass to glass is fine for RTVs, & btw, silicones as well as urethanes generally have excellent UV resistance. However, over time, a chemical reaction occurs between RTV/brass surfaces and is exacerbated by moist salt air.
I agree with Vic S's suggestion to thoroughly clean both surfaces, use a slow cure epoxy and add: use dry abrasive; abrading both surfaces along the glue line.

Try EVO-STIK NAIL AND SEAL - seems to be like sikaflex but much cheaper and does not go off in the tube after you open it. Should be in bigger hardware stores - unlike sikaflex. By the way - don't go for near variants on the name.
