Some of you will have seen my previous posts rambling on about my concern that the inboard end of the stern tube had a flange which was only wide enought to accept one jubilee clip to secure the stuffing box hose Inboard Flange

Whilst it had been like it for some years and to the best of my knowledge had not come off and sunk the boat, I didnt want to be around if it ever did come off, as I dont like cold water!

You may be interested to see the soloution :- I had a flange made up to slip over the existing one with a longer connector to enable the hose to be secured with 2 jubilee clips
Sleeve to fit over existing flange and Sleeve in position

Hope this is of interest

"very ingenious BUT
wot about a lock nut on the existing studs "

I only took the photo this morning to check it fitted - Locking nuts still to be fitted!

An ingenious solution to the problem, well done.
How are you planning to seal between the two fittings...are you using a gasket or Sikaflex or....?

Definatly not Sikaflex as I might want to get it off.. Just plan to use a marine sealant . Its a snug fit so the sealant together with the bolts should ensure it does not leak
