At anchor or even tied along side in certain conditions, the dreaded slap of wind blown chop on the stern of the boat drives certain crew. ( the ones sleeping in the aft cabin) mad. Can vaguely remember some sort of strap arrangement tested in YM or PBO. Apart from only sailing with deaf crew does anyone have a solution to this??

That's the problem with a wide stern[NO not yours]. There was something in a recent YM, past three months, that was like a bench cushion strapped from each quarter. Aparently effective ... pretty? not so sure.

PhatBouy. I know how you feel. I suffered on my old Vivacity for too long before I cracked it. Go to your local fire station and for a wee donation to their charity you may ask nicely for a piece of redundant 4" delivery hose (note terminology as son is firefighter!). Cut to required length then stuff with anything that will float eg closed cell foam cut up small. Sew up ends and insert an eyelet each end. With lashings fitted to allow adjustment you will find that this will break the wave action against the hull and your rest will be undisturbed. Who cares what it looks like - it works. Rab.
