Stepping a Mast

Evening All

Does the hoist at Cardiff Bay Yacht Club have the ability step a mast on a 29 ft boat, have found a first 285 which ticks the boxes but will have to bring her up on a lorry so will beed the mast put back upright !

No mast stepping facilities at Cardiff Bay YC. You can get the job done at Carfiff marine and they price it sensibly.

Looks like 80 quid per hour for a 2 man team, time to do the sums and I'll give them a ring tomorrow !

I would have everything ready and ask them to stand it up and connect just enough shrouds/ forestay to keep it standing .You can fit the rest and tweak it all at your leisure.

Spoke to CBYC, launch there and then I'll take her up to Cardiff Marina - about £80 and a 30 second trip up the river !!

Just waiting to see if the offer will be accecpted.

For the price this would be handy for cbyc... apart from doing masts good for all sorts.

No need Csail. They could simply add the standard adaptor system to the wise boat lift if they wanted to - which they dont seem to do.
