Steering Pin stuck

[Volvo KAD 32 tfft]

290 duo prop

I have removed the 2 larger allen type bolts, installed the 2 x 6mm bolts
and have been tightening and loosening, tapping etc for an hour now, but no joy
any body got any ideas?

They're not metric threads. .Use the screws from the gearshift cover instead.

Thanks for the reply, I got m 6 screws from the instructions in the manual?

Job done! well done Col, I just went out and did it (didnt fancy dreaming about it all night)

the m6 screws as recommended by the manual (page 10) dont even get to the bottom of the pin before they bind up, giving a first timer like me the impression that that the pin is stuck,
anyway, my grateful thanks, I am off to get some shut eye and will be back on it in the morning, and hopefully have the drive off,

Ok, I will probably be shot down in flames here but, I had a similar problem to the OP, I got the leg off without having to remove or loosen the pin, the whole leg simply lifted off, and I removed the steering pin in comfort later.
