Thanks

Steep holm

It looks more interesting to me, also the advice is not to leave boats unattended at flat holm which for someone left aboard would be a disapointment

Anchoring

No don't leave the boat. Our friends broke anchor but luckily i stayed on our yacht so rescued their yacht about 2m off the rocks.Great place to go but speak to the warden first.

Permission

Thanks for that, I have been given permission to land, I e mailed and tomorrow is not a problem as there is a boat going from Weston so someone from the trust will be onsite, I was hoping for someone with firsthand experance of the holding of the east beach to speak up but I guess there are alot of people away at the moment

too much tide

Well that was a disapointment, got there at mid tide and I couldn't find anywhere near the east beach that was out of the tide, I wasn't going to leave the boat as I don't think I could have rowed back to it, so Bristol Channel forum, has anyone visited Steep Holm?

I visited and landed on Steepholme once.It was close to low water ,there is a shingle bank that builds up around the landing beach.you need to anchor between that and the beach very close in.Only spent half an hour as worried about the boat.A guy from the Trust tried to stop us landing but gave up and told us to keep to the path.As we had no shoes on I dont think we could have done much damage :-)
