I have noticed my engine struggle to re-start after it has been running for an hour or so, eventually it will start but I have to put little bit of gas in neutral. Also it stall if I suddenly put too much power or reduced power quickly, however it is seems to be ok if I gradually increase or decrease the power. It start ok when it is cold. I have recently serviced the engine including all filters changed, also cleaned the fuel lines and changed the element filter on the water separate. I have recently serviced my start motor by professional guy. Can someone please point me to right direction.

This was my initial thought also, I have re checked the main filters, and seems to be ok, the only other one is the pre filter, is there any of checking this.

I am trying to decrypt what you are asking... "gas in neutral" makes little sense in a diesel engine.

I've always been taught to put the power/gear stick in neutral and move to 1/2 when starting any diesel engine , perhaps you are meaning this.

I don't know the D2 engine, but had a simular problem with a 2002, it turned out that there was a spring and clip that needed to be sorted out at the end of the power cable around the governor. Difficult to describe - but there was a component that was overrunning a stopper and causing the engine to stall, usually at the wrong time (close quarter work when you needed fine control).

the link below will show you the area that I was having problems with and the spring, item 35, that was replaced.

The pre-filter is the one that always gets blocked, and is also the type to suck air. Change that one.

Hi it does sound like air getting in the fuel system.
For testing you could fit a clear piece of fuel line and look for bubbles.

Another thing i found on the D1 and D2 is to rotate the top of lift fuel pump on the engine so the out let is pointing up ward.
Had one that would for no reason get air.
With the pump round the other way was able to quiclky push it through the system.
