Starters clicking.... rubbish earth maybe?

As suggested, jump leads and/or a jump starter or might come in handy when testing. Direct supply to connecting points will show if it's a supply issue.

It was myself who fitted and re wired the batteries,
i Made sure it was wired exactly how it was previous - just a bit tidier.

i think we are going to remove the starter that isnt playing ball and investigate a sticky solenoid. purely because we did have it turning over previously and tried another charged source on it.

We are finding 'if you want it doing properly.... just do it yourself' for a lot of stuff. i had also emailed the electrical engineer we were advised to get to come and have a lok to not bother. dont really want a £50+ bill for someone to come and turn isolators on and walk off.

Did you check battery voltage when trying to start? If the battery is charged and ok connect a jump lead from battery -ve to starter and try again. If that doesn't help connect battery +ve to starter with a jump lead. Also worth shorting solenoid directly to battery live.

Could it just be that the engine isolators weren't turned on? Low current still there for the solenoids to operate but no power straight to the starters?

I think originally the engineer hadnt turned these on hence a non start. however we had managed to get the engine to turn, albeit not to start, the battery just didnt havethe puff so can only assume its needing a charge as its brand new.

But when it did turn, the starter didnt sound right, so its off to be checked over. But happy that ive got 1 engine running and the webasto running, the 'todo' list on this project is getting shorter... for now...

Trust yourself. If you don't have the knowledge, now is the time to acquire it. I have always believed in being independent. Even if a job is too much of a struggle without the right gear, I like to know what the work entails and how the person engaged to do it has managed.
