Starter motor perkins M80 T/ Volvo TMD 22

Never in a Ford. As I think you have been advised before it is a British Leyland engine. Contact skipper stu who is the expert on these engines and will no doubt have information on starter motors.

The Montego/Maestro base engine is the same as ours with the fresh water pump different plus the starter motor is on the other side so different. The LDV 200 2.0d is the same as ours from the fresh water pump point of view but the starter is still on the opposite side.
Shttp://www.parts4engines.co.uk have stocks of most bits with the Perkins M50 prima the same as the MD22 /TMD22

Going back to the fresh water pump, they have seemed to have disappeared now. Ive been lokking at the Maestro montego one, the outlet goes in an upward direction, see here

however, it could be used in an emergency. There are plenty on ebay. They fit ok on the block and the outlet sweeps in the middle of the cam belt housing. If one had a length of suitable water hose then you could sweep it around and fit it to the heat exchanger. The calorifier tee could be jointed in to the pipe.
