Well I'm pleased to announce my 3 week old son has sailed his first 4 nautical mile sail in some what sleepy fashion. After reading so many anti sailing articles for youngsters I decided to employ common sense and ignore the health and safety brigade in favour of calm weather and sensible distances

Keep him going!

I remember being at anchor in Cala Fornells when the local (Brit) sailing school had about fifty 3 and 4 year olds whizzing around in their Optimists.

A lad of about 4 scraped the boat "****, ****, *******" - he said, and disappeared. Not heard such language since Army days!

Our kids were [probably] conceived on the boat, and one was very nearly born on board.
Is that early enough? :)

Our son also sailed at 3 weeks - off on a 3 week holiday with his mother and 2 brothers. In a Corribee 21.
He no longer speaks to me now he is 24.:)

My son went sailing when he was about a month old.He was all eyes and didn't cry for a full day which was very unusual for him. That night he slept a full seven hours something he never did again as a baby.
