Is it like this in every marina in the Solent right now?

I'm just wondering if it's worth moving to a 'cleaner' marina.





On second thoughts.. Does anyone think that bringing the cats to the boat could keep the birds away?

Ask to move berth, they seem to favor one or two spots year after year.

This was Brighton Marina at the end of September last year when I visited. A quick bash on the rigging stopped them crapping on my deck.

Starlings, terns, turn-stones, cormorants, sea gulls, crows - they'll get you one way or another!

No, one of them drives about in a golf buggy with an air horn to scare the birds into moving to the Premier marina next door

I used to despise them, but now I love them and I think they are very cute; by the way, I sold my boat last month.

The Hawk man visits the marina from 17:00 until 20:00.

And yes, when the hawk appears, the starlings disappear.

Maybe I should have got a hawk instead of the cats.

Do they give the birds something to aim at? ;-)

They just seem to like some boats. A mate's has to wash the guano off his boat before it's safe to move around, while others nearby don't have a problem.

Hoist the cat up the. Mast. I would have thought that was obvious really
mind you make sure the cat uses the litter tray first

Thats the bow of my boat in Martin's second picture, so when the wind is in its prevailing direction, we get plastered..... plus we are in the flight path as they land / take off.....hey ho.
