Starboard engine slow to rev

I've got two AD41p-A's in my Targa 33 and have noticed that the starboard engine is slow to rev past 2000 rpm.

I cruise at 20 kts and 3000 rpm...it does get there but a good five seconds behind the port engine. It stays there and sounds fine once at speed. Below 2000rpm it revs the same as the port. Is this turbo related?

Both engines are just on 500 hours and are due for a service. The hull is dirty and is coming out this Friday for a clean and paint.

This has only happened this weekend. Is this something else or just in need of a good service?

Any ideas please?

Have you got bypass valves on the ad41's. Had the same symptoms on tamd71b's and fixed it by changing the gates and seals on the bypass valves? It may well be fuel related but thought I'd add this 'just in case'.

Could be fuel restriction, leaking exhaust (not allowing turbo to spin up) or turbo actuator (if fitted)....or all three. Try revving the engine up to 2000rpm and put a clean piece of A4 paper around all the turbo and exhaust seals. If there is a leak, you should see it flapping slightly or get some suit on it. Also look for signs of black suit around the engine hatch etc. sure sign of an exhaust leak.
Good luck
