Mine has been on the boat for about fifteen years and I'm thinking it's time for some new.
Has anybody recently had a 30(ish) feet sloop re-rigged?
I'm wondering how much of my "sailaway" capital this is likely to eat up.

Two years ago I had mine replaced. 28ft masthead sloop, 2 main shrouds, 4 lowers, backstay and roller reefing forestay, 6mm wire, new Stalok chromed bronze bottlescrews all round. Cost £600 with me taking the rigging to the rigger to be copied.
We originally had quotes varying from £600 to close on a £1000, I couldn't see any reason for the price difference.

I had a Contest 31 done end of 2012 wich I can email you the invoice for. I had a few other bits done such as new chainplates manufactured, new guardrails and the furler serviced etc. It's an itemised invoice though so you can pick and choose the bits that fit.

PM me your address if you'd like a copy.

That's very cheap - who did that?

All except the forestay was done by Kiwi Marine at Endeavour Quay (£450). The forestay, which required the rigger to attend the yard and use special tools to dismantle the roller furling, was done by Barry Locke of Barry's Reefing and Rigging Services at Thornham (£150).
Service by both parties was excellent, on time and on price.

Rigging screws should be fine but inspect them no need to replace. Do remove the wires yourself and take the old to the rigger for replacement. IMHO side stays are most important with forestay then backstay perhaps less critical but do it anyway. good luck olewill

I sent my old standing ringing to Z spars early 2012, and they charged £685 + vat to make new in 7 mm. That included the forestay (plastic coated for inside the roller furling), inner forestay (6 mm), cap shrouds, lower shrouds and back stay, together with new bottle screws and delivery. Fitting the new rigging was easy, everything fitted / was the right length. I obviously had to pay to have the mast taken down and put up at the yard as well. Very happy, would use Z spars again.
