Does anyone know if there is any significant difference between the CMB25 and the CMB30 remote mics.
I've looked at all the descriptions and the 30 seems newer, bigger and more expensive but that's about it as far as I can see.
Am I missing something?
Thanks, Graham

The CMP30 is the latest RAM3 remote mic, with enhanced features over the older CMP25 RAM+ remote. The CMP30 is a little smaller, has a better display, and offers even more control over the main set. If used with the new GX2100 radio, the remote will even display AIS targets on its screen. The CMP30 is apparently backwards compatible, so should work with any set which used the CMP25.

Thanks pvb.
A concern was that the new one looks like it's bigger in the pics I've seen. Smaller seems better so it's probably worth the the extra. We have a GX1500e so it should work with that according to the SH website.

Standard Horison cockpit mic

I agree with FullCircle. A few years ago I was out with my brother on his Vancouver 32, we had two headsails and main up with two of us on board, no problem. However while tacking in strong winds the staysail sheet got caught on something on the foredeck, the sheet flailed about and got tangled up with the Standard Horizon cockpit mic. For several minutes while we sorted things out, the mic was smashed around the cockpit. We both thought it would have to be thrown away, but it was not damaged and continued to work without a problem, until he sold the boat last year. That was a real test that I would not suggest others follow. George
