I have a SH2100 with the RAM it is fed nmea position data from a furuno gps.
All functions work correctly.

Yesterday I fitted a vYacht Wifi multiplexer router. It works well with a Seatalk input for HDG Depth etc. on the NMEA input I want to feed the AIS data from the GX2100 but this does not work.
However I know the multipexer is working because I have fed in gps from the furuno and it works.

When I tried the AIS data at 38400 baud using green common and brown as data. Nothing
If I try NMEA output at 4800 baud using green common and gray as data. Nothing

It appears that the GX2100 is not outputting anything, I have searched the manual and can find no settings relevant to turning on data.

I would be grateful if anyone could trow any light on the subject.

Thanks

Tom

I have a copy of the manual for the GX2150

In that the AIS high speed output is yellow + white -

The GPS output 4800 is grey + brown -

The also seems to be a setting for different speeds but not having a radio it not too clear to me.

Thanks both

The GX2150 is a newer model designed to fix the baud rate problem so I think the cables are slightly different, but thanks very much for the help.

The AIS data is showing both on the main radio and on the RAM remote access mike.

We have an SH GX2100 set up to receive position data from an NMEA network but because of the baud rate issue it sends AIS data direct to the plotter using a separate port set to receive HS NMEA. The plotter needs the correct settings enabled to display AIS. I would be suspicious of the multiplexer and whatever device you are using for display, myself. I have found with things of this kind that there is only one correct combination of settings, and many possible incorrect combinations, which makes it difficult to fault-find. Good luck.

My guess would be that the multiplexer isn't accepting the 38400bps AIS data, and when you connect the 4800bps pair you see nothing because there doesn't happen to be an incoming DSC call at that moment. There's no need to modify any settings to make the radio talk.

Thanks Nick and Pete

Good point about the NMEA DSC data only happening during a call. I had foolishly assumed that it would be outputting all the time. This is a great help.

All the best
