Standard Horizon CP180 firmware?

Last time I did mine, about 3 or 4 years ago, it was quite straight forward.
Fill out form
Pay deposit
They send card
You use card and send back
They credit you with card deposit.

Note: you loose all WP's routes etc.

Oh! and you from then on get an annoying message on power up to say your charts are out of date which you have to acknowledge :mad:

I still have an update card - they sent it when I had some issues with the unit rebooting on hovering over an AIS target. The update didn't resolve the problem, but changing to a different AIS engine did ...
Anyway, they never took card details and we've still got the card ...
 
I got one about a year & a half ago, my then new unit was only displaying speed in whole knots instead of tenths. Did the card details, get card, return card thing...

I've never done a firmware update, but still get the 'charts out of date' warning. I don't mind so much as they ARE out of date and I should update them. Have tried several times but the only dealer near me seems to need massive notice to be there to do the update.

I did an update around October on CP180. All very straightforward and very helpful. Havent had time or weather to check it out yet, it appears to alter the screen, from memory. There are details of the changes on their website.
 
Did it this winter. When I spoke to SH, they said this would be the last update released for the CP180. Does that meen they have a new model in the pipe.....

They seem good though so if this is the last one with anew model comming, they are unlikely to stop supporting the CP180.
