Standard Horizon charging SBR-13LI outside radio

Hello
I have a Standard Horizon HX870E Vhf and will not charge the battery, but the radio does work fine. Is there a way of charging the SBR-13LI battery when it is not in the radio. I was thinking of connecting a wire from the charging cradle directly to the battery but there are 4 connections on the battery and I am not sure which ones to use and not sure if this would be possible. Or can anyone recommend somewhere that could probably fix the radio. Any advice much appreciated.

We’ve got these radios in the gig club. They often refuse to charge because the studs on the radio casing have become corroded, as have the contacts in the charger. A quick attack with an emery board on the charger contacts and a fine screwdriver on the radio casing contacts usually resolves the problem for another couple of months.

Thanks for that suggestion - I think my problem is connection the unit, probably have to buy a new one.

How old is it? There will be a 3 year warranty.

Unfortunately over three years.
I had a reply from Standard Horizon to send it to them, so I will do that.
