Stancion mounted furling block

Why not just get a small pulley block and lash it to the stanchion with some small size rope - say 2 or 3mm diameter? Say No1110 from Barton marine which are ball bearing 30mm Diameter. If it's a loose-ish lashing It'll self align.

+1. Soft attached block - we use these, or a size up depending on rope size. Lovely light blocks with dyneema attachment. Think they show options for how to tie for correct alignment

I got fed up with bashed ankles on my furling line. In the end I attached the low friction thimbles/rings you can now get together with a dyneema loop. You can mount them close to the stanction to give more space on the side decks and they are totally self-aliging.
