Any recommendations for getting some stainless work done in southend area ?
its nothing fancy , just a piece of inch tube bent 90 degrees at each end with mounting flanges welded on , its function is to take 2 clipper pods across the hatchway .

many thanks .

this avenue was investigated but sadly no polished stainless tube available

just have to bbbbbbbuy it :eek:

still , got a couple of months to play with ..............................

Would an off the shelf grab handle fit the bill ? Might be cheaper. Plenty on Ebay, item 150519863083 is 42" long, currently a fiver, if you could get it shortened at work, a cheap solution.

Or, if you can get the work done, polished 1" stainless isn't hard to source. How much do you need ?

If you have access to the other side of where you are fitting it, i think the style of Ebay item 260427051852 looks neater (and is less work). Two 45° bends, cut the ends at 45° and weld M12 nuts into the end (just on a couple of the nut flats).

Or you could visit Dauntless chandlery (just over the Canvey Bridge from Benfleet) where he has lots of different grab rails - and he isn't expensive. Mind you, one step inside that place and you will see lots of other things you can't live without - a real Alladin's Cave. Brilliant place :)

my bit (grab rail shape ) was 960mm long with a 90 degree bend and a 160mm upstand plus mounting flanges , bought off the shelf for £45 .

yrs being custom made would probably be a bit dearer.
