Hi all

I am looking for some T shaped trim to go around the hatches in stainless. The stuff that gets attached to the hatch and forms a "flange" to cover the carpet joint. Cant seem to find any

Any suggestions please?

cheers

Any good fabricator should be able to make this up, its usually welded at corners to prevent sharp edges

T is generally available, in 304 not 316 but that doesn't matter and 304 is fine in this application. For retail quantities try https://www.metals4u.co.uk/stainless-steel-t-section/1664/products.asp

As aquapower says it needs welding then polishing at the corners to work well, so it's usually a job for your local s/s fabricator

The wood infill is usually (on all cases I've seen, at least) attached by long woodscrews driven horizontally thru holes in the vertical web of the T section. I've always hated that but I guess it's the only way to do it. I have visions of the ply splitting and people falling through a "trap door". Probably me worrying about nothing. Anyway, use plenty of screws, like every 3 inches, imho!
