My Westerly Kestrel has timber rubbing strakes that have become worn at the fairleads where lines pass over and I am looking for stainless 1/4 radius section or angle section that I can let in to prevent further ware.
I am having trouble sourcing stock section so could any body reccomend a supplier in the South.

Thanks

A useful way to get the curved section that you need is to slit a S/S tube of the appropriate diameter longitudinally with an angle grinder. The grinder wheel will take out approximately one quarter of the circumference of the tube, leaving you with the other two quarters.

Try www.metalsdirectuk.com for stainless stock. They stock reclaim/surplus stainless amongst other metals and sell in 'small quantity' They recently supplied me with stainless steel shims to pack under a compression post I was fitting at the time. Helpful guys.
