Stainless steel fabricators in Plymouth

I used a fabricator across the water near Millbrook. He ignored my drawings and did things like making a hole specified as 10mm clearance 14mm diameter. A connection specified as a male thread was made up female. I won't name him but if anyone is thinking of having s/s work done in this area, send me a PM.

Here are his details (oh and another recommend)

Phoenix at entrance to QAB are good. I have used them a number of times. Cannot comment on value other than they seemed professional, could explain how they got to their quote and completed the job on time. Julian is the boss. No other conection.

Dicky B marine (they are in the big hangers at PYH) made a stern platform for me- very good.. but needed some adjustments. Personally I thought they were fine (but I know one or two others who chose to differ in view!) and they were relatively inexpensive. I'd use them again.

I had another chap make up a new pushpit when flattened during an accident- top class work and extreme attention to detail, lovely job, but a good job the insurance were paying! Pm me for his details.

The third person I've been recommended is "stainless steve" at "100% stainless" . He comes extremely well recommended but also expensive and had quite a long waiting list when I got him to quote for the pushpit work.

The stainless fabricator at Hercules.co.uk also came recommended- but don't know any more, as he forgot to quote!

I've had work done by both DickyB (Hangar Fabrications) and Steve at 100% stainless. If you want perfection and are prepared to pay a premium, then 100% Stainless is the place to go. Dave at Hangar is still very good and he likes it even better if you produce a mock-up in ply of what you want him to make in stainless (where appropriate). Dave has made the bow roller and pushpit on my current boat and I will go back to him for some winch mounts that I need made.
