Do any of my peers know where I can buy a stainless-steel ensign post? Fed up with these wooden ones, I suppose I could go to a local engineering company, but I thought these would be available on the shelf, to date I've been unable to track them down.
Any Ideas?

Have you considered a raggies stanchion post. The long ones are about the right length. the centre hole is just about perfect, and you can get the socket to fit it in, and they are quite cheap to buy. Will probably go this route myself as I also want a stainless pole and have not been able to find one.

Marine Superstore, Puerto Solente! Complete with little fixing base for about 20 quid. Available in different sizes, but suitable for up to a 1 yard ensign. Also have neat matching burgee staffs to fix to pulpit rails...

Go straight ahead through front door, last but one aisle on the right should have ensigns and flags generally on th erack facing the door. Stand with your back to them (looking at the door), and they were low down in front of you, to the left of all the wooden ones. All packed in clear poly bags.

Peters Chandlery at Chi have these. I know, 'cos my wife bought one recently from them, along with the ensign.

As for the price, you'll need to ask her, as she was the one who decided to chuck the old one into the harbour, & I insisted that she should be the one to replace it.

R

ps I know where there is one going begging, if you have a snorkel & flippers.

Ooop, Sorry Martyn,

I didn't see your post there asking for the address.

So <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.pcsboatbits.co.uk/html/ondeck3.asp>Here</A> it is, about half way down the page..

Hope it works for you.

Cheers...
