Hi all,

I could do with fitting some SS duoprops and I have an opportunity to get some second hand but they are on this Leg:

and my legs are 290's

apart from the obvious cone missing from the end does anyone know if they will fit my 290's?

cheers,

Clive.

The ones in the picture will be type F props, you need type C. If your current ones are aluminium they will be type A. Find the number eg A5 and, as long as your getting the correct revs at full throttle get C props with the same number. If your revs are slightly up or down it is a good time to change size. I had A5 but my revs were about 200 down on where they should have been so when I changed to stainless I went with C4 and my WOT is now spot on.

You might want to think before you fit SS anyway. If like me, you are in a sandy sea area (and Porthmadog is sandy!) then you would be OK converting to SS. If however there is any chance of your props dinking rocks, then don't do it. The ali props are designed to break before your drive shafts do. Wanna know the price of shafts?

Have to agree with that. The prop ring anode still lasts the season, but it is much more wasted than it was with ali props. When I changed to stainless, I added a decent hull anode adjacent to the drive and bonded to it.

thanks for the info guys ...

I could do with a few more revs as I am slightly over propped...

they are advertised as C5's but they are not as I found out that the exhaust does go via the prop hub.... the chap says he has 2 sets going for 999NZD - about 20GBP!! :-)
