stained sails.

removed headsail today to clean, found lots of green mould on the leech, i usually soak the sail in a bathfull of warm water with normal washing detergent plus a small amount of milton, done this but no sucess in removing the mould.
anyone had the same problem and removed the mould,
any tips appreciated.

Dabbing with a trichlorethtlene ("Dab it off") soaked rag might work.

Milton is not vey strong, it's for babies bottles. Try bleach or Oxalic acid. Use gloves and oxalic acid will attack bronze cringle/hanks!

I googled "green mould stain" and got >

MOLD Rub with borax and water paste.
MOLD Soak in strong vinegar solution.
MOLD AND MILDEW Rub with lemon juice and salt.

Bleach worked for me on roaps.
