ST7001 v ST7002 - what\'s the difference?

The raymarine website has identical information on these (control heads). Is there any difference between them - styling??

...although the Raymarine web site still has it listed! Outwardly it looks like they've changed the styling to match the ST60+ units (rounded corners) but the functionality looks the same. I have the chance to get one at a good price (partly because it's not the 'current' model) and wondered if any one could confirm that the only downside really was that it's last years shape!

Possibly /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif -- but then again... /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif...

Nope! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I can buy an ST7002+ at Boatfix.com for $614 which, with shipping to my company's US office would end up around £320 with the current ER. I bid £210 (about half the UK price of an ST7002) but at £255 plus £10 shipping I'd rather pay the extra £50 and get the up to date unit (just in case it is more than just a cosmetic change!). If you just compare UK prices though someone did get a good deal.

It is ridiculous that RM stuff is so much cheaper in the US. I bought my last lot (some 4 years ago) in the Us after much wrangling with the Credir Card folk. It was about 60% of the UK price for the same thing. I reckon todays prices over there would be nearer 50%!!! I was visiting and brought them back as luggage. I even was really honest and paid the VAT. No import duty because it is a UK company. Bizarre thing was I went through the RED lane at Heathrow and had to shout for some service... No-one around.

Good luck

And the prices in UK is 50% compared to Denmark !!!
Example: The price of a Raymarine C80:
In Denmark: £ 1.800 ($ 3.650)
In UK: £ 1.200 ($ 2.500)
In US: £ 800 ($ 1.600)

So you are not in title to complain UNLESS you lives in Denmark !!!
