I have a masthead transducer where I think the bearing in the spinner has failed although the direction vane is fine.

Is there a company that can repair this or is it a bin job?

Is it worth advertising the unit in case a keen DIYer might be interested?

You can buy the bearings e.g. from http://rswww.com/ and it's possible to change them yourself if you are prepared to cut into the mouldings that hold them. I did this successfully but I have to say the replacement bearings only lasted a couple of years.
If you have to bite the bullet and get a complete new masthead unit, Raymarine will actually do a PX on your old one that, while still expensive, is far less than the list price for a new one.

I went up mast and removed unit. Used WD40 several times to remove rust. Found the water removal hole in bottom of rotor was blocked with dirt. Lubricated bearing with light oil and replaced. Seems to be going fine.
