I have a Raymarine ST60 wind display / masthead unit. The display seems to loose its calibration every time the system is powered off causing an approx 6 deg error that needs to be corrected in the set up menus... which is a bit if a pain. Has anyone come across this and do you know a way to avoid the unit loosing calibration / offset? Thanks.

I had one on a previous boat (about 15 years ago) that repeatedly lost calibration of wind direction. I seem to remember that there was a grub screw in the wind vane that should be tightened on to a flat spot on the shaft. Ours was not fully tightened and not exactly aligned with the flat spot. It might be worth going up the mast to check.

Thanks for suggestion, I will check that, although in this case I don’t think there is any movement as the error is constant. You can correct it in the settings, but next time out the error is back.

It was 7 years ago when I calibrated my ST60 and I seem to remember that I had trouble with calibration and the 'permanent' one is buried deep within the menu system. Having an ITC-5 in the set up didn't help either with calibrating the log !
