Been reading the Teamsurv thread. Can anyone advise if it is possible to source depth data for a Garmin GPSMAP 551 from a Raymarine st60 tridata which is using Seatalk?

You'll need to translate the Seatalk data into either NMEA 0183 or 2000. A Raymarine E85001 will turn it into 0183 and there's a similar device which will turn it into 2000, but I don't know the model number of that one.

Alternatively, certain Raymarine instruments such as autopilots have NMEA out connections which may transmit the depth info from Seatalk.

Thanks for replies. I'm off to W. coast Scotland on Tuesday,, a TeamSurv trial area, and wondered if it would be as simple as joining two wires; apparently not. A bit late now for anything more complex so will look into when I get back. Thanks again.

All Teamsurv loggers are 0183, they do have 2 channels so if you have an autopilot head on the ST bus it should have an 0183 output, you could use that on one channel for depth and the Garmin for position on the other, or output the AP 0183 to the Garmin and just use one channel from there into the logger.
