ST60 to NMEA2000

After starting to re-commission the boat this year, I've now discovered we already have the ST60s linked into the (Simrad) NMEA 2000 Network via the Ryamarine converter. This is because I had to do the resistor fix on the Speed/Log ST60s and found the Raymarine converter hiding there behind the instrument panel! (Thanks to all who contributed to helping me fix the log. It cost me £3.69 in total!)

@PaulRainbow #14 was correct - (again). As the ST60s are on the NMEA network already the Plotter is linked to the NAC3/AC44 via NMEA0183.

So I'm more than halfway there already. Just got to get the Plotter linked up now onto NMEA2000 rather than NMEA0183.

Many thanks to all who responded......

A more ghetto (possibly interim) solution would be to just stuff the old displays behind a panel somewhere. They're doing what you need electrically, but nothing says you need to look at them if you have the data on your newer kit.

Errrmmmm. nobody would ever do anything as simple as that ... honest
