ST60 speed log

The ST 60 ? Speed worked ok until mid summer then became intermittent displaying 000 only but no blank screen.Cleaned paddle wheel and contacts on back of display little joy.
Yesterday cleaned paddle wheel rotated and got a reading but replaced and 000 showed,some magnetism on paddle wheel but not every spade of the paddle.I am thinking possible break in cable or sensor failure.Looking like new paddle wheel unit complete.Any thoughts.

Have you looked at the contact in the plug on the end of the cable? Just a thought. Re the paddle wheel, I don’t think that all the blades contain magnets, just one or two. You could try cutting the cable near the transducer and rewiring to a new plug before chucking away the transducer. You could also take out your display and connect it to someone else’s transducer to test that bit.
