I have a ST 50 GPS which intermittently beeps and displays NO FIX. Cannot find a reason in the manual which describes NO DATA. GPS signal is present on Seatalk (fed in through the NMEA SEATALK Bridge). Display shows valid position data as well.
Second: How do I delete previously entered waypoints??

1) Aaagh!! I had the same problem on my Magellan 5000 GPS this year, also driving ST50 instruments. The GPS had reset itself over the winter to the default(off). On my Magellan I had to go AUX; 6; and then select the NMEA output - various options listed, on mine the hand book had been marked 0183C . Did the above and it worked!
Check your handbook for how to do it on yours.
I spoke to COMAR the repair people for Magellan and it's because the batteries had rundown over winter;(the memory takes a few microamps) so must remember to fit new batteries each layup(but I bet I'll forget!)
Hope this solves your problem.
2) Sorry, can't help....

Hmm seems to be a different problem. The GPS sends the info (can "see" it on my Navigation Computer). The ST 50 also Displays the Lat/Long but still beeps intermittently. It shows NO DATA when I switch off the GPS and NO FIX when it is on and working. Handbook does not mentioned the NO FIX message. Does not really makes sense to me what is happening.
