Hi, i'd like to connect this to the NMEA output on my chart plotter and also the Clipper Wind Instrument, as it only appears to have 1 set of NMEA input wires will it work with multiple inputs? If so do i just connect both the wind instrument and the autohelm to the same input?

Hope that makes sense... i have a hangover

Thanks

I assume you've got the ST1000+ because the ST1000 only talked in SeaTalk ..

We connected the ST1000 to the ST60 wind instrument although never really used the functionality ...

Your plotter should supply several NMEA listeners, so you will be OK. Like Fireball, I wouldn't get too excited about connecting wind to autopilot, not very useful IMHO, unless, perhaps, you like to go for a snooze on passage.
Amend:_ Sorry, not thinking straight, The NASA wind is a talker of course. The AP probably won't be able to listen to the chartplotter and NASA Wind at the same time without extra circuitry. You might have to physically switch them. FWIIW I wouldn't bother.

I wouldn't get too excited about connecting the CP to the AP either ... it will beep at you when the track changes - you have to press a key to get it to accept the change ... not much more hasstle to disengage, change course then re-engage ....

The beep and accept change is a required safety feature to try and make sure YOU know what boats doing.

And why disengage when you have neat buttons you can press ? Even tacking is a doddle with one. I only disengage when really necessary or coming onto berth.

Clipper Wind ... can that control a Tillerpilot ?
