I've got a Raymarine ST1000 autopilot which has a pretty feeble alarm and I'm wondering about opening it up to either fit something better inside or to connect it up to a remote alarm which would have a bit more ooomph.
To be honest I'm a bit surprised that AFAIK there isn't anything available commercially so it looks like a DIY job.
Anyone done it and got any pointers? I'm quite happy wielding a soldering iron but haven't yet got round to opening the thing up.
