Apologies if this has been posted before but I have just received a letter from my insurers - St Margarets - to say they have launched a home contents policy for customers who liveaboard and have no 'home' other than their boat and are generally not covered for the personal effects.
This should be similar to the usual household contents policy.
Nothing on their website yet but their phone number is 01732 223832 (00 44 1732 223832 if outside the UK).
No connection other than a pleasantly surprised policy holder.

When I had a break in on my boat , I had quite a struggle to get the claim settled by St margarets by comparison to the instantaneous settlement by my house insurance for home items that just happened to temporarily be on the boat.

Plus home paid replacement new value, whereas St Margarets are an insurance that uses a value of goods lost rather than replacement value.

Pays your money and takes your choices.

That was a standard policy - I havent had a new one this year (just sold my boat), but would expect that the concept of new for old, which is enshrined in most contents policies, is unlikely to be in the St Margarets policy!

I would be happy to be proven wrong. I mention it in order for you to check.
