St Katherine’s Marina

What would be stopping you buying a CRT visitors licence and using the free mooring?

Good plan...but
You pay your 2 nights online £50.00 ...lock in ...and the "free" moorings are full of tin slugs....with itty bitty tar coated rubber stiks for fenders and do you really want to raft out with their ankle snapping roofs to clamber across,
so you call up the marina for a berth ...sorry we are full..
err any chance of a lock out then
Ring Ring ..any chance of berth St.Kats ... sorry tides away matey, you missed the window
A night bouncing around moored next to a lighter near Greenwich...Deep Deep Joy :)

We have had to raft against narrowboats and fat narrowboats plenty of times and whilst not ideal we have not found it a problem to get across them and to shore.

In fact where it is shallow in the edge we sometimes prefer to raft alongside a narrowboat as they keep us in deeper water and are a nice flat sided pontoon to moor against.

H,mm.....
Will probably need to weld some temporary decent cleats capable of taking anything other than the old bits of string and washing line used by most tin slugs.
Already have aboard a ladder to climb down .:)

Is this true? The latest news I can find on the internet is that it was due to go to court around May 2017 but I can't find anything more recent. Its closure would be a great pity; apart from the low prices (but then not a lot in return in terms of facilities), the tide window for the lock is the best of the London marinas.

Further to the low prices, if it's still the case, beware the added charges to lock in and out.

Mods: shouldn't this thread be better placed on the Thames forum?

As far as I know they are redeveloping the basin. But maybe been put on hold or something.

St Kats fair value.

£314 for 9.2M boat for a week inc unlimited electricity.

Lovely place, fantastic location, plenty to do and nice showers/facilities.

Weekly rate looks best :encouragement:
