Anybody bought one recently ? I seemed to of lost mine from the top of the mast during the storms over the last few weeks /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. if its raymarine it must be expensive to replace.

I bought just the vane a year ago from J G Technologies for £220. The vane is an improvement on the old model.
Read the fitting instructions carefully, you have to remove an o-ring from the old mount before fitting the new vane. The good news is that you can use the old mount.

Thanks for the reply... as i thought lots of money.
suspect the plastic on my old one had gone rather brittle and a bird sat on it and that was the end of that.

Surprised to hear that, but the new vane is a lot better than the old one. Seems to be more stable and rotates more easily.

My wind vane became rather brittle last year and the same thing happened. with the combination of wind and a bird (starling) problem recently i imagine thats what caused it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
