Hi
As a result of a letter from the SSR people I sent off my SSR renewal about 6-8 weeks ago, the cheque has not been cashed and an e-mail enquiry remains unanswered. I am wondering if my renewal is 'lost in the post' or that there is a delay due to COVID19. Has anyone experienced a similar delay or, for that matter, received their new SSR promptly in the last couple of months?

Yes, I sent the renewal form off and credit card payment about a month ago and heard nothing. I have just received a chaser so clearly one part of their process is working!

Paid renewal by card online a few days ago , instant automated reply has been all that's been received so far>

Your payment of £35.00 to Maritime and Coastguard Agency (RSS) was successful

Payment for: SSR- Renewal of Registration
Reference: ******
Date of payment: 20 June 2020 – 12:41:30

My 'certificate' arrived about a fortnight after sending a scanned copy of the application form to them.

Their budget now runs to A4 paper but not laminating it!

Which does mean that if you have to depart before the delayed renewal arrives, you need to be careful to avoid the temptation to do a bit of a scan and photoshop on the date of the old one as there would be no way to tell the difference  :)

I sent them a photo of the completed form on 10 June ( having checked with them by phone that this was acceptable) They were going to send me an online payment link. I phoned them again yesterday, 22 June to say that the link had not arrived, the link arrived this morning and I paid my £35 online. A very friendly and helpful person told me on the phone yesterday that I should expect my certificate in the first week of July..................I live in hope
