Still all sorts of grey areas of course, it being France. We registered our Dart 18 many years ago, to take it (a dart isn’t much of a she) to Carnac. Even though it arrived on a trailer.

If it has a motor, or is more than 2.5m it needs to be registered.Discrepant responses - two saying France didn’t ask for it (nor was I) and one saying yes you need it.

Exactly. The French in particular do love their paperwork. We’ve done the Texel race three times on different cats, never registered, never asked for it. The Dutch aren’t interested for beach cats.
