Ah-ha. Not actually got cert yet. Did reg online and was expecting email confirmation or cert as PDF (like VHF license), but got nothing yet. So I get a cert through the post, then.

I finally got round to changing my boats registered address the other week. I phoned up Cardiff and asked if there where any forms and could I apply by email? the answer to both was no, I warned them they would get badly hand written note if I could not do by email.

They said if that was the case I should to send drawing as well, so I did :ambivalence:. Got Cert back in 3 days complete with another drawing of the magic roundabout (most interesting thing in Cardiff they said) and the bars they work behind :D :D

So for quick response apply by drawing :encouragement:.

That is brilliant. Real people work there...

I was on their website and mistakenly clicked on the 'send question' button, which sent a blank email with just my address on it. They responded at the start of the next working day, asking if I had meant to send a blank question. I replied no but would like to renew my registration and change address; almost immediate reply telling me what to do and that I could renew up to three months in advance. I sent off a request to renew by post and got my new certificate about 4 days later. I reckon that's pretty good service. I've also had friends who needed their certificate in a hurry and the Cardiff people told them to come to the office and collect that afternoon, all at no additional charge. Added to the magic roundabout story, I reckon it shows that they both have a sense of humour and service.
