I have already installed on my cruiser a Airmar transducer that I have read was only manufactured from 2000 - 2002, I have been installing all newish raymarine kit, I wired this transducer into an ITC-5 to get it on to my network but only to find that speed and temp seem to be open circuit and the depth is showing a slow flashing led that I believe is and error, I'm not bothered about speed and temp at the moment.
So part of this is retractable so the speed insert can be removed for replacement or servicing and its 31mm diameter.

My question is: a dst800 for instance is a fully retractable sensor if you like, do you know if this type of kit would fit into my SS544V Transducer.

Has anyone any suggestions for getting depth measurement into a boat that's in the water and is 10mm aluminium?
