SS props

Very difficult to get the usual good quality merc props at the moment. Although, I’d say that the enertia is the most difficult of them all to get a hold of. If it’s the real full fat enertia, and not the enertia eco.

tnx all, so no need to have a 'Honda' prop at all then, that opens up possibilities
Enertia and Vengence appear to be top brands

my allu OEM prop has these are the marks on it: 3820, E386, 16x16 ? V flat 6's could be 15x15
from a prev thread sounds like it is a 15x15

hm, there is not a straight replacement from Allu to SS, the measurements are different

should i start a different thread 'replacing an allu prop with SS'

the performance of the allu is ok, hole shot not important
MF 695 with Honda 150 Hp starts to plane at around 21 knots, which is fine
the allu prop is not that old and is getting chewed up with minor debris, so its mainly durability that i am concerned about

Until you start a new thread:

If you reach the recommended rpm at wot (5000-6000), with your normal GW, the prop dimensions are right. If you want to change the rpm, rule of thumb is that one inch change of pitch changes rpm by 200 (less pitch = more rpm and vice versa)

If there are no problems (dragging air to the prop when turning, rpms going up and speed going down) there would be little reason to look for specific designs. 90% of the performance is down to the design, 10% to the prop material. Your boat isn't really designed for highest possible speed which, by the way is decided by weight and available hp.

If hitting hard stuff, alu will give while steel will keep, transmissing the shock to the gearbox. The hub should flex, but takes a big punch.

No free lunch, so 150 hp will not deliver more knots with a different prop (given that your rpms' are within specs and there are no others issues).

Adding up boat, motor, fuel, crew, gear you might have a GW of 1950 kg which 150 horses can push to some 30-32 knots - estimated and with clean hull etc. In any case testing is the only way to know what suits you. Can you borrow a few?

Personal experience is that main brands are better. On a Honda 50 composite props proved to be close to useless.
