Square Oarlocks please

I know that you can buy beautiful Douglas oarlocks http://marinestore.co.uk/Davey_Rowlock_Square___Socket__Gunmetal.html at a price but I am looking for simple square galvaized oarlocks to match up to square oars. Any ideas?

Not seen any off the shelf, but you could go to a Steel fabricator - 1/2" Square Bar bent to a square channel shape, welded to a staraight bit of bar, bottom half rounded to fit gunwhale plate, then galvanized - " simples " shouldn't be too expensive!

Actually on second thoughts, it may be not strong enough for the forces involved and it would maybe require it to be a casting, or maybe a latch across the top to prevent the oar coming out but also provide support for the outside leg of the open channel.

Just a thought, maybe someone will come up with a off the shelf supplier - good luck with it.

Double thole pins would be a whole lot cheaper and probably as effective.
