The S58 has 2 water gauges. One on the fly and one on the lower helm.

There is the same arrangement with the fuel tanks and the manual tells me the tanks are balanced and the port tank is shown on the lower helm and the Stbd the upper. Bit odd - why not have 2!

Anyway the manual makes no such comment as regards the water tanks ( there are 2 port and stbd). These balance also but seem lazy in their balancing and it maybe there is a valve I have not found that is off or part off.

The main issue is that both upper and lower show different quantities and empty is 1/4 tank.... so some work is required.

Some questions. Does anyone know if there are 2 senders and they are wired like the fuel tanks, or is there on and both gauges in parallel?

Once I have found out what goes where I suspect that I will install the new type of pressure sensing sender to get a more accurate idea of what i have in the tanks.

I seem to remember there being a sender in each tank and one doing fly, other lower helm. I used electronic fuel measurement so didn't care much about gauge.

Balance valve for water tanks is easily reached in rudder compartment. Big access hatch in crew cabin. You'll want to get to know that space anyway.

You are correct re the fuel gauges ( helpfully it is in the manual) - it is just the water I am after at the moment. Probably the same arrangement.

This one is EVC A and I am not sure that I can get the fuel metering off it.

Volvo dont sell the adapter for EVC A ( I donated my last one to Jimmy The Builder who got it going in minutes - I spent days!) but these people do

But they are not sure if EVC A will expose foul metering or not.

I have found the balancing pipe ( tanslucent pipe) but suspect it may not be balancing as it should! This one has two water pumps which I dont think is standard from reading the manual.

Many thx

I had fuel metering, using the plug n play volvo display, on both my s58s - the first being 2004 boat EVC-A and the second being 2008/9 boat EVC-C. With the A boat I'm never sure I got the computer to divide by speed from the GPS, so as to give litres per mile, but I got litres per hour for sure. The A boat give litres per mile.

The double water pump is standard OEM. Was on both my sq58s. It is a double pump rack sold as a complete set up by Jabsco
