Spotted her on Lough Derg yesterday. At least I think its a 55, might be a 50? Nice looking machine, but tut tut, fenders please!!! She must be landlocked restricted to Lough Derg as she must be too deep to navigate on the River Shannon sections. She's too high to get out to sea because of the low bridge at Killaloe and the guillotine lock gates at the hydro dam's lock. That would drive me bonkers being stuck on a small pond with a machine designed for long offshore trips.

Looks like a perfectly normal boat usually seen on the upper bit of the Thames .A little on the small side but everybody has to start somewhere. !

Ah OF, I leave the fenders out all the time, especially on Derg, never know who might hit you!

I totally agree with you btw! Ridiculous boat for the river, and so limiting. I see that a SQ55 draws 5', what is the maintained depth above Portumna do you know?

There seems certain sector of the marina bertholders , where I keep my boat, who are competing for the biggest boat ..........or is it the biggest something else ? Not my sort of people. They are probably not in boating for the longer term.
